What is a Herpes Witch?
A "herpes witch" isn't a widely recognized or official term. It's more of a niche, modern, or subcultural label. Like most witches, she believes the home should be a place of safety, comfort, and beauty that encourages all aspects of health and wellness.
A herpes witch practices low magic and focuses her intent, sometimes magically (energetically), on helping others naturally overcome frequent and severe herpes outbreaks. She creates a clean and peaceful sanctuary, provides nutritious meals, and conjures up medicinal concoctions to alleviate the mental, emotional, and physical symptoms of herpes. She likely keeps small jars of herbs or tinctures on hand, containing ingredients such as lemon balm, licorice root, aloe vera gel, or bee propolis, to support herpes management. And, while her focus is on HSV remission, she often helps to heal other conditions, such as colds, head and stomach aches, and insomnia.
Low magic is a form of practical magic performed with loving intent. For example, because it's essential to the herpes witch that family and friends feel comforted and thrive in a safe, caring, and comfortable environment, she might place a rosemary plant at the front door for deflection (turning away evil spirits), polish a cabinet with old-fashioned lemon oil for shine and purification, or slip herb-scented sachets inside pillowcases (lavender comes to mind) to promote a guest's good night's sleep.
Like the kitchen witch, the herpes witch often conjures much of her magic there. However, the herpes witch may not even enjoy cooking meals. She may prefer baking, preserving, needlework, making soaps, dolls, candles, or medicinal home remedies. She tends to focus on integrating her domestic abilities, working with what she has to cleanse and protect her home from toxins and negativity. Or, she may do it all.
Her home is often filled with vintage items (copper pots, bottles and jars, soft old quilts, blankets, pillows, rugs, trunks, books, and candlesticks) and adorned in twilight shades found in nature (mossy greens, indigo, earthy browns, rust, deep reds or blues, shades of black and white).
While she may or may not have a garden, she likely has a few herbs growing on her windowsill. She likes to surround herself with flowers, rocks, crystals, shells, and any other natural treasures she finds during her wanderings. This is partly due to her understanding that she is not separate from nature. She is nature itself, which is why she prefers a simple life. You'll never see her wasting anything or tossing trash from a car window. She will likely coexist with another life form (for example, a cat or bird), whom she considers a close friend. Her deep connection to the spirit of the natural Earth and wildlife makes her a delightful creature to encounter, bringing a sense of calm and tranquility to her surroundings.
A herpes witch's altar typically has a designated area. However, it may not be apparent to outsiders because it often includes household items such as trays, spoons, cups, a mortar and pestle, sea salt (or witch salt), rocks, photos, candles, incense, or dolls. To the unaware, a herpes witch altar could look like an assortment of things waiting to be put away, with a broom leaning close by. Traditional altar items are typically absent, such as an altar cloth, prayer beads, a wand, a pentagram, or a statue. However, she may use charms, potions, crystals, and oracles for herself and others to heal broken hearts, keep animals, people, and things safe, and manifest abundance. All spells, which are often nothing more than prayers, are lifted in love for protection, self-love, and release work.
Herpes witches don't have to belong to a specific tradition, believe in a particular religion, or worship deities (though they certainly can if they choose). In other words, a herpes witch can follow any spiritual path, religion, or none at all, and often chooses to live and practice alone.
Note: I've referred to herpes witches as female, but it's important to note that herpes witches can be male or female of any race, religion, or economic background. It's also important to note that witches don't literally cure herpes viruses, and there's currently no magical or herbal method that eradicates HSV-1 or HSV-2. It stays in the body permanently. However, a herpes witch can help you focus on symptom management, immune support, and emotional healing, which can help reduce the frequency and severity of outbreaks.
