The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm Recipe
The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm is formulated with antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. It speeds healing time by half and, if used at the first sign of an outbreak, may halt blisters from ever forming. And, yes, it's safe to use directly on open lesions.
The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm can be used to heal pimples and acne, rashes, insect bites, minor cuts, scrapes, burns, and dry skin. It helps to prevent skin discolorations and scarring. It can also support the immune system by applying a pea-sized amount to the back of the neck, lower back, or the tops of the feet twice daily.
The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm warms in conjunction with the body's temperature and glides on smoothly without pulling or damaging sensitive skin. It has a pleasant scent that dissipates quickly and is non-staining. It glides gently onto the skin, warming your body's temperature without further pulling or damaging sensitive skin.
Besides remedying herpes outbreaks, THW Remedy Balm can help heal acne, pimples, boils, insect bites, minor fungal infections, mild to moderate burns, sunburn, and light to moderate skin irritations. It contains a 5% dilution ratio, the maximum ratio considered safe for adults to use topically. Therefore, it is meant only for adults and children over 12. Performing a patch test beforehand is a good idea to check for any sensitivity.

- Oregano

Ingredients THW Remedy Balm Base
- Avocado Oil
- Virgin Coconut Oil
- Jojoba Oil
- Virgin Olive Oil
- Vitamin E Oil
- Beeswax
Virgin coconut oil gently removes the outer layer of dead skin cells, leaving the skin smooth and radiant. It penetrates deeper layers of the skin and strengthens the underlying tissues, helping heal and repair age-damaged skin. Fatty acids from coconut's saturated fat are called lauric acid. Lauric acid converts into monolaurin in the body, which is otherwise found only in human breast milk. Monolaurin supports the immune system. Other studies suggest that monolaurin can block signals between "problem-posing" cells, disrupting their function and, in turn, preventing herpes outbreaks.
Olive oil has antioxidant and antibacterial properties, contains vitamins A, D, E, and K, and is an excellent skin moisturizer.
Avocado oil is full of antioxidants and healthy fats. It's rich in oleic acid (a monounsaturated fat) and vitamins A and E. Avocado oil soothes the skin and enhances wound healing. It also improves the absorption of other skin moisturizers.
Jojoba oil is a liquid wax ester derived from the cold-pressed seeds of desert shrubs, which speeds up healing and minimizes scarring. It is similar to the sebum that skin produces for moisture and elasticity. However, the skin's sebum production typically decreases after the age of twenty. Jojoba mixes with the body's natural sebum and helps maintain suppleness by forming a thin, non-greasy lipid layer that holds water in your skin without clogging pores. Jojoba contains vitamin E, B-complex, silicon, chromium, copper, zinc, and iodine.
Vitamin E has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It supports the immune system and helps healthy skin cells to regenerate. It is also a natural preservative.
Beeswax is anti-allergenic and contains anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes irritated skin and locks in moisture to keep skin hydrated, plump, and smooth. Beeswax can help keep the skin firm and plump. It is also a natural pain reliever.
The following recipe makes approximately two ounces (4 tablespoons) of balm, enough to last several months.
What You'll Need
You'll need a small pan, a glass measuring cup (preferably with a handle), measuring spoons, paper towels, something to stir with (such as a spoon, chopstick, or popsicle stick), and the following ingredients.
Fill a shallow pan with 2-3 inches of water and place it on medium heat. Then, place the following ingredients in a glass measuring cup and submerge the cup in the shallow pan filled with water.
- Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
- Avocado oil – 3 teaspoons
- Jojoba oil – 1 teaspoon
- Vitamin E oil – 2-3 drops or use the contents of 2-3 soft gels (optional)
- Virgin Coconut oil – 2 teaspoons
- Beeswax– 2 heaping teaspoons (from a block or pastilles)
When all the ingredients have melted, add 57 drops of THW Remedy Oil, stir to mix, and then pour the mixture into containers. Allow it to cool and solidify. You can also use just one container. It will take longer to solidify, which is okay. You can put it in the fridge to speed up the process. Wait to cap it tightly until it has solidified.
Note: The color of the beeswax determines the color of your balm.
THW Remedy Balm Uses & Precautions
Apply no more than a pea-sized amount (or less) 3-4 times daily to any area of the body, except inside orifices (such as the nose, ears, mouth, vagina, or anus). It is safe to place essential oils near orifices, but not inside the body, where they could cause a reaction. In most instances, The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm is typically used for 3-7 days. However, it's safe to use up to 14 days. Each application brings 3-4 hours of relief from pain, itch, and burn.
Note: Because The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm contains a 5% dilution, the most significant dilution still deemed safe, it is intended for individuals aged 12 and older only.
Topical Application for Herpes Lesions
You can use THW Remedy Balm to relieve the itch, burning, and pain associated with herpes lesions. It helps speed healing by half, and when used at the first sign of an outbreak, it may prevent blisters from forming. Never insert THW Remedy Balm into bodily orifices, such as inside the mouth, nose, ear canals, vagina, or rectum. You can safely use it on the outer lips of the mouth, around the edges of the nostrils, the surface of the ears, the vaginal labia, and the anus. NEVER put it too close to the eyes or inside an eye.
Using a Q-Tip applicator, apply balm to the site of infection. You can also swipe the balm from the Q-Tip with your finger to apply it to your skin. A tiny amount goes a very long way. Don't glob it on, or you could become sensitive to the balm. Not only that, but you would only be wasting your balm. In this case, less is more. You only need enough to cover the area with a protective film. Apply 4-6 times daily for up to 14 days. Be sure to use a clean Q-Tip each time you dip into your container to avoid contaminating your balm jar. You can also use THW Remedy Balm for minor scrapes, bruises, burns, insect bites, fungal infections, acne, and pimples.
As a Topical Application to Kill Germs and Boost Your Immune System
Massage a pea-sized amount of THW Remedy Balm onto your feet in the morning and again at night, especially during cold and flu season or after being around someone who is ill. It may help boost your immune system and kill germs that cause colds and flu. Alternatively, massage the same amount onto the back of your neck, lower back (below your waistline and above your tailbone), the backs of your upper legs, and your feet (tops and soles). Do this up to 4 times daily for up to 14 days, which is usually the average recovery time for most viruses.
For Topical Pain: Bruises, Arthritis, and Neuralgia
THW Remedy Balm is most effective for pain located near the skin's surface, such as on the knuckles, elbows, and feet. To ease the pain, massage a dime-sized amount of balm directly onto the skin over the affected muscle or joint 3-4 times daily. Don't slather on this formula. Using too much could cause sensitivity.
Precautions
- If your container warms up, the oils will liquefy. The container may spill when opened. To solidify, place THW Remedy Balm in the fridge for about 15 minutes to harden again.
- Using essential oils topically can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, potentially increasing the risk of sunburn. Keep this in mind when using THW Remedy Balm on cold sores. Wear a hat or avoid direct sunlight after applying in the warmer months. You'll want to avoid direct sunlight on your face anyway, as it can trigger an HSV outbreak.
- THW Remedy Balm may cause a warming sensation when first applied to open lesions, which typically dissipates within 20 seconds, followed by relief that lasts 3-4 hours. A patch test is recommended beforehand. Place a tiny amount of THW Remedy Balm on the inside of your upper arm below your elbow. Bandage it in place for 24 hours and check for signs of sensitivity (continuous burning, redness, inflammation, bumps, or hives). Sensitive reactions have never been reported, but that doesn't mean they can't happen.
Storing Your Balm
It will last 9-12 months or longer when applied and stored correctly, and can relieve 10 or more outbreaks, depending on severity. Store The Herpes Witch Remedy Balm away from sunlight and heat. Over time, even with proper storage, the essential oils will lose their potency (from the jar being opened to the air). However, it can still be used for other purposes, such as soothing dry, chapped skin. How do you know when it goes bad? It doesn't. Unless your balm becomes contaminated, it will eventually lose its scent, indicating that it isn't as potent. However, you can still use it to heal chapped skin and relieve dryness.
